The UK education sector has announced great news for international students immigrating there for education. The education sector of UK is elated to reinstate two-year post study work rights to international students. Enrolments from 2020/2021 academic year are set to benefit from this new immigration rule.
Owing to the announcement by UK government for the world’s largest genetics project, the country also recognizes the need to emphasize on expertise, chiefly in STEM fields. International students, however, make up half of all the full-time postgraduate students in STEM fields.
“This will put the UK back where we ought to be – a first-choice destination for international students. We lost ground in the last few years, particularly in South Asia.” – said the UUKi director Vivienne Stern
The new immigration rule by UK will allow students who have completed a degree in UK at undergraduate level or above to hunt a job in UK at any skill level and they will be able to switch to the Skilled Work route if they could successfully find a job which meets its requirement.
